The study of the ecological and evolutionary basis for animal behaviour, and the behaviour that enables an animal to adapt to its environment.

Sir Alan Budd

Sir Alan Budd Kt is Provost of The Queen's College Oxford, a post he has held since 1999.  He was formerly the UK Government's Economic Service and Chief Economic Advisor to the UK Treasury.  He has also served on the Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee, as a member of the Board of the Institute of Fiscal Studies and the Securities and Investments Board.  He also chaired the Gambling Review Board.

 

Lord May of Oxford

Lord May of Oxford Kt, OM, AC FRS is a former UK Government Chief Scientific Advisor and President of the Royal Society.  He is one of the world's leading authorities on non-linear dynamics and has won numerous major international prizes for his scientific work, including the Crafoord Prize, the Balzan Prize and the Blue Planet Prize.  He originally trained as a theoretical physicist but has spent much of his career as a theoretical biologist, at Princeton and Oxford Universities.
