Sir Alan Budd

From 1999 to 2008 Sir Alan Budd Kt was Provost of The Queen's College Oxford and, from its inception to August 2010, the first head of the new Office for Budget Responsibility. Sir Alan was formerly the UK Government's Economic Service and Chief Economic Advisor to the UK Treasury, was a founder member of the Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee, and has been a member of the Board of the Institute of Fiscal Studies and the Securities and Investments Board.  He also chaired the Gambling Review Board.

Lord May of Oxford

Lord May of Oxford Kt, OM, AC FRS is a former UK Government Chief Scientific Advisor and President of the Royal Society.  He is one of the world's leading authorities on non-linear dynamics and has won numerous major international prizes for his scientific work, including the Crafoord Prize, the Balzan Prize and the Blue Planet Prize.  He originally trained as a theoretical physicist but has spent much of his career as a theoretical biologist, at Princeton and Oxford Universities.
