Sales Development Representative – ESG fintech

About the role

Oxford Risk is looking for a new team member who wants to help financial services firms meet the ESG preferences of their investors. We are looking for an experienced business development talent who has a proven track record in cultivating B2B relationships, developing new leads, and emphasising the needs of the customer in ESG software.

You should be outgoing and confident in phone and face to face communication, and have previous sales experience in the ESG financial services sector, and an enthusiasm for being at the cutting edge of new solution development.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect, educate, qualify, and develop target accounts and inbound leads to create sales-ready opportunities for our ESG offering
  • Research accounts, identify key players, generate interest and develop messaging that will garner interest using web research, LinkedIn Sales Navigator and     existing Salesforce database
  • Engage with prospective customers to develop new business relationships, understand the business challenges they are trying to address and determine the solution(s) that will be of value
  • Handoff opportunities to senior sales team members where needed, educating as necessary about opportunities
  • Successfully handle and overcome prospect objections
  • Be highly coachable and committed to building an understanding of the market, developing your sales skills, and learning our products and process
  • Ensure efficient lead management by updating lead scoring and prospect interaction in Salesforce
  • Partner with marketing team to generate a robust pipeline of qualified sales opportunities
  • Increase your business acumen and develop your sales skill in creating narratives to support our vision of a financial future.

What we're looking for

  • Min 2 years within a SaaS Sales/Business Development Representative role (selling to ESG software to financial institutions preferred)
  • Self-starter with a track record of successful, measurable lead follow-up and sales development at multiple executive levels within an organization
  • Strong opportunity qualification, objection handling, and time management ability
  • Trained on call structuring, conversation control, and pitching
  • Positive and energetic phone skills, excellent listening skills, strong writing skills
  • University degree or equivalent experience required
  • Strong computer skills, including Salesforce.com, Zoominfo, SalesLoft, LeadIQ, Microsoft Word, Powerpoint and Excel
  • Experience working in a start-up environment strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of multiple European languages strongly preferred
