Purpose and legal basis for processing

When you use our websites, some anonymised information about how you access our site and what you look at can help us improve the design of our websites and identify potential new content or services. We collect your consent for some of the non-essential cookies we store on your computer, and we also have legitimate interests in analysing traffic, usage and understanding our users.

What data do we need?

When you consent to our use of non-essential cookies, we collect information such as what web pages you access, in what order, and for how long. We also collect information about the type of computer you use, your IP address, how you got to our webpage, whether you encountered any errors, and more information in this vein.

Why do we need it?

Analytics data help us understand how our website is working, and whether we could make changes that would improve your experience using our site.

What do we do with it?

We import your pseudonymised usage data into a third-part analytics platform (see below on data processors), and periodically review how people use our website.

How long do we keep it?

Information collected in our analytics panel is stored for 14 months.

In virtually all cases, we will only hold “pseudonymised” data about you, which means that we have data you generated, but we don’t have any way to link the data to you. Therefore, it may not be possible for us to locate your data even with your help. That said, below is a description of your rights to any data that could be linked to you.

You have the right to see the data we hold about you. To make such a request, please email us on the address above.

Rectification

You have the right to correct or augment any data that is inaccurate or incomplete. To make such a request, please email us on the address above.

Erasure

You have the right to ask us to erase the information we hold about you. To make such a request, please email us on the address above.

Restricting processing

You can restrict our ability to process your data by rejecting our use of non-essential cookies. You can also control this processing via your internet browser settings.

Objection

You have the right to object to our processing of your data, and if you do object you should reject our cookies or block our cookies via your internet browser settings.

Do we use any data processors?

We use Google Analytics to analyse web traffic and usage data. For more information, please refer to their privacy notices.

Do we transfer any data overseas?

By consenting to our use of non-essential cookies, you are giving us permission to potentially transfer data about you to servers outside of the UK and European Economic Area.

What if you have concerns or want to make a complaint?

If you have concerns about how we process your data, we recommend you get in touch with your adviser first, because they are the ultimate controller of what we can do with your data. If you would like to get in touch with us directly, we will be happy to hear from you at privacy@oxfordrisk.com.
