Behavioural finance specialists, Oxford Risk, announce a partnership with Nomo, UK-based, Sharia-compliant digital wealth and banking platform, to support the launch of its new investment proposition to customers across the GCC.
The partnership responds to a significant, largely untapped opportunity across the GCC. Recent research from Nomo found that 15 million residents across the region are eager to invest, yet 40% remain hesitant to do so, held back by the complexity of investing rather than a lack of appetite or means. Among the specific barriers identified, 51% of respondents pointed to a lack of trustworthy advisers, 45% said they struggled to understand risk profiles, and 34% cited high entry fees or minimum thresholds. Notably, 65% said they would increase their investment activity if they had access to tailored, professional support, which underlines the scale of the opportunity for a platform that can combine credibility, simplicity, and personalisation.
Nomo Investments has been designed to close this gap between saving and investing, giving customers access to professionally managed, Sharia-compliant portfolios with exposure to global markets through an intuitive digital experience. As part of the launch, Nomo has integrated Oxford Risk's risk suitability questionnaire via API, enabling the platform to assess each investor's Risk Tolerance alongside their broader Financial Circumstances, including Risk Capacity. By combining these measures, Nomo can build a more complete and accurate picture of each customer's suitability profile, helping to ensure that suggested portfolios reflect not only how much risk an investor is willing to take, but how much risk they are able to take, given their financial situation. These measures are designed to support the suitability assessment process and do not constitute investment advice.
The integration directly addresses one of the region's most significant barriers to investing: understanding risk. By translating risk profiling into a clear, guided experience, Oxford Risk's solution helps Nomo turn a source of hesitation into a source of confidence, supporting customers who are ready to move from saving into investing, but who need clarity and trust to take that step.
Oliver Green, Head of Nomo Investments, said:
"We are delighted to announce that the Nomo Investments proposition is now live to customers. Oxford Risk have been an integral integration partner for this project, and the suitability assessment within our journey really helps our clients to better understand investment risk - which we know is a key barrier to entry – whilst also helping us meet our regulatory requirements."
James Pereira-Stubbs, Chief Client Officer at Oxford Risk, commented:
"Getting suitability right means looking at the whole picture. It's not just how someone feels about risk in any given moment, but what their financial circumstances allow for. Nomo Investments has taken a thoughtful approach in building this into their platform from day one, and we're proud that our solution is helping to underpin that experience for customers across the GCC."
Oxford Risk's risk suitability solution is delivered directly into the Nomo Investments platform via API, allowing customers to complete their risk and financial circumstances assessment as a seamless part of the onboarding journey.
